Cheung "William" Sai-Lun | Chiang Sai-Lung/Luk Chau

I loved Luk Chau as soon as we were introduced to him! He is instantly ride or die for Cheung Sai-Lun and I love his energy. I love everything he brings to the table and how his intensity interacts with Cheung Sai-Lun who is deeply undercover but is also an intense person by nature. I love the possibilities of Luk Chau finding out everything, or about further identity fuckery (...what if Cheung Sai-Lun was actually Chiang Sai-Lung??). Fake dating Luk Chau instead of Ko Bun (as well as Ko Bun????), watching Luk Chau fight and realising that, wow okay, Cheung Sai-Lun is actually really into that. Fighting lessons??

Full disclosure, I still haven’t finished the series because I watch things either in one hit or over the course of a year but pls don’t worry about spoilers, I certainly don’t.

Cain/Do Gyeong Joon (Dear. Door)

SIZE. DIFFERENCE. Like… fuck. I love it. Cain’s already so much larger that Gyeong Joon in his ‘regular’ human type body. His actual demon body is even larger and I die. I love the way Cain and Do Gyeong Joon interact, I like the way their relationship has developed, how Gyeong Joon was seduced and then promptly decided to throw all in. And Cain is like… such a mess but weirdly doting? I do know what the fuck is up with him sometimes but he really is kinda sweet.

The deepening trust was great! I also like how Gyeong Joon gets to regularly be a badass and do cool stuff! The overall story plot is really cool too, but I really just love the way Cain and Gyeong Joon exist and interact with each other.

The Good Teacher

Ahn Seunghyun/Park Hojun (The Good Teacher)

Ok, I was honestly wracking my brains being like 'ok but <i>why</i> do I even like this webcomic so much????' And it finally came to me. It's a respectful, if not realistic, depiction of sex work! It's extremely rare to see neutral, let alone positive, views on my work in any form of media and that's what probably drew me to it. Saying that, I haven't finished it (do I ever finish anything within a reasonable time frame? no.), so if that changes in the later chapters I'll probably cry lmao.

The pairing itself is delightful! Park Hojun is very earnest and has big himbo energy and I appreciate him very much! He just wants to learn and get better! And Ahn Seunghyun is such a fucking mess tbh. Pretends at being put together very well but he decided a good way to make money was to be a sex tutor. And they're so compatible! They help each other grow as people! I love their interactions very much, especially once they start to see each other outside of their 'lessons' and their relationship gets more well rounded.

Han Seonho/Lee Myeongyi

I reread this just recently and it doesn’t say it but I swear the anime mentions that Han Seonho isn’t actually married, he just wears the ring for convenience sake! Pls don’t have him cheating on a partner - though I’m fine with open relationships & poly. I can’t really explain what I like about this pairing, I just really do. It’s enjoyable to see the juxtaposition of their teenager selves with the men they’ve become. The differing perspectives of their relationship, then and now. Actually, I think the reason I like this so much is the ending of it. The way they come back together at the end. Maybe it’s because I first experienced this story by watching it with my gf and so I get emotional about the happy ending, idk.

Maybe something post-canon, where they’re learning more about each other, who they actually are now; building something real and lasting.

For Mirae and Sang-hwa: they're dumbasses and I love them. I love the canon relationship, the way Sang-hwa does so much personal growth, all of Mirae's aesthetic. It's nice and sweet and I firmly believe they live happily together forever! And get married in their online game in a really cheesy way and then their online friends hold a party for them or something. The whole webcomic is just fun and I appreciate that!

Adding Ryuh Han into the mix... hehehehe. Look, for the longest time I thought the story was going to be one of those 'the 2nd male lead realises his feelings too late' type deals, but I was wrong. But... what if I was right! After so long being oblivious about Sang-hwa's feelings (about his own feelings perhaps?), he gets a clue too late and now Sang-hwa's dating a gangster?? He decides to put a stop to it and ends up dating both of them instead? Mirae thinks it will make Sang-hwa happy and reluctantly befriends this idiot he massively dislikes but then... oh no. Something something angst with a happy ending.

Adam Taylor/Raeliana McMillan

Adam Taylor/Raeliana McMillan/Noah Wynkight

Okay, from the very first time I read this webcomic, and Raeliana was nice to the perpetually shunned Adam I went: Ah. Okay. They should be together forever. Especially since, at that time, Noah was being a jackass (iirc). And Adam and Raeliana spend so much time together as well! She treats him well, as a friend, and Adam is clearly starved for all positive interaction. We see a little bit of how much he likes her, how protective he is towards her, but it's usually overshadowed by Noah. I just really want for the two of them to get together and have a relationship!

Not much to say regarding all three of them. I just think it would be neat. Canon relationship but Adam is much more involved. ...Adam and Raeliana low key dating behind Noah's back and then everything gets very complicated when Noah is like 'date me for real.' Of course, they could literally just communicate like adults and sort it out and then spend the rest of forever being delightfully happy together! Imagine.

Train to Busan (2016)

Sang-hwa/Seok-woo/Seong-kyeong (Train to Busan)

CHARACTER GROWTH. Trust building. Almost found family trope, if everyone had lived long enough. All three are great characters with great arcs, I just want them all to survive!! Let them live!! Seong-kyeong deserves two doting partners (though they would dote in very different manners). Give Seok-woo a second chance to be a husband now that he’s done some growth. Sang-hwa is my absolute fave and I insist he get everything he could possibly want, including this asshole he just did a speed run of dislike to ride or die with. The chemistry for all three people is amazing. I cry at the end of Train to Busan still, every time.

All three + Soo-An living in the safe zone together; non-zombie au where Seok-woo is still an asshole but not as much of an asshole as the start of the film so Sang-hwa and Seong-kyeong are reluctantly charmed by Seok-woo. Seok-woo and his wife had an amicable divorce and then the awkwardness of your ex-wife setting you up with not just one, but two of her friends. Au where they live but don’t reach a safe zone and have a Very Tense Time (with happy ending. please.)

Not necessary but if you make it so that Young-Gook, Jin-Hee, In-Gil and her sister and the homeless guy don’t die, I will be so incredibly grateful.
